About
Maggie Chumbley

I am a facilitator, trainer, and coach.

I specialize in group facilitation and instructional design. I consult on leadership development, strategy, training, meeting design and facilitation in the business, government, non-profit and education sectors.

My approach draws from systems thinking, complexity science, adult learning theory, design thinking, and group coaching. I believe the essential skills of facilitation are strong design, a repertoire of methods, deep listening, and authentic speech. Through these foundations, I help groups find their way through difficult conversations and stuck places to create lasting change.

I grew up in the Midwest and I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

“Maggie has helped me conceptualize and execute a daunting task while teaching me a set of skills that I can use for years to come. Maggie is not only a fantastic meeting facilitator, but she is also incredibly organized, responsive, and insightful”

How I Approach My Work.

Brain Based: I incorporate the latest neuroscience research into meeting and learning designs

Liberating Structures: I often uses these structures and am guided by these principles

Design Thinking: The Stanford model of Design Thinking greatly influences my thinking. I can teach and apply these methods.

Adult Learning: I know and apply the core principles of adult  orientations towards learning and help to develop metacognitive  and growth mindset awareness in everybody I work with.

Inquiry and Coaching: Using the power of a well-timed, open-ended question to help guide your thinking, I support your best thinking.
